Rain Rain Go Away

Another rainy day in Georgia means another whinny day in Booneville. I try to wear them out inside but between our to do list of chores and cabin fever I am going nuts!! Thank goodness that mom got Walker the Easter Bunny coming to town movie or I would be bald now. Thanks Mom Walker LOVES the movie!!!!!

Aden did take some independent step this morning but right when he got to his fire truck he took a nose drive right into the fire truck and that was all he wrote on the walking. Last night I was trying to get him to come to me but instead of him walking or crawling he got on his hands and feet and walked that way. What a goofy boy but that's why I love him so much.

I finally got Walker and Aden signed up for preschool next year at our church. Walker will go three days(Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) and Aden will go Thursdays. I am stocking up on tissues for the first day of Walker's school but I am excited at the same time. I will be able to get out and help Josh more which makes him excited.

Tomorrow we are suppose to meet with a realtor to put our old house on the market. I am bitter sweet about that but GLAD when I can close the book on that chapter of my life. It is only bitter sweet because that was my boys first house and the crazy sentimental personality of me is sad but the relief of not having to live there is so so much better. The boys love our new house.

That's all for me today but if I end up taking pictures I will post them later. I wish I had my camera charged earlier because Walker did do the sweetest thing to Aden this morning. Walker was laying down on the floor and Aden went over to him and crawled on top of him so Walker hugged him and rocked him. He was singing Rock a bye baby to him and Aden laid his head on Walker's chest. It was just priceless to see. I love my two monkeys!!!!

Great Soup

I tried this last week and loved it. I have never made soup before even though this is more like chili but Josh and I really liked it.
Taco Soup
2 lbs of lean ground beef
(I'm sure you can use ground turkey or chicken)
2 cans stewed tomatoes
1 can Ro-tel tomatoes with chilies
1 pkg. taco seasoning
1 pkg. dry Ranch dressing
1/2 cup of barley ( I didn't use this)
1 (16oz) can whole kernel corn
1 (16oz) can pinto beans
1 (16oz) can kidney beans
1 (16oz) can Bush's white hominy (it's near the corn)
1 can of cream corn
Do not drain any cans. Brown lean ground beef and drain; put into pot. Add the rest of the ingredients and 2 cups of water. More water may be added at any time to make the soup the way you like it. Cook in crock pot on HIGH for 1 hour. Cook on low 2 hours or more.
I cooked this on the stove on high for about 45 minutes and then on low for about 30 and it was very good!! We also put crushed corn chips on top with cheese and sour cream. Yummy!

I hope that you will try this and enjoy it as much as we did.

For Aden's birthday we decided to go to the Zoo since it was such a nice day. The weather was perfect and there was hardly anybody at the zoo. We were there for a good two hours and everything was perfect. After the zoo we went and ate pizza at Grant Central in east Atlanta. Walker always loved eating there and now Aden loves it too, but the music was a little to loud for us this time. I think Aden had a great 1st birthday because he was such an angel the whole time. I love you birthday boy and I'm so proud to be your mommy!!!!!

Bitter Sweet Day

Well it's not any news to those of you that know me that I am a huge President Bush fan. After all, I did name my first born Walker. He is really named after my Nandaddy but it did make me happy to find out that George had the same middle name as my son. It also made me happy to find out that Bush is a lefty(so am I) and that we share the same birthday of July 6Th. I just love that Bush seems so down to earth and so funny and Mrs. Bush is so sweet and such a supporting wife to her husband that has been so beaten up by the press. I know that has to be so hard on her. This all being said I am excited about Obama being president not because I voted for him(b/c I didn't - Go McCain!!!) but because of the excitement of the people. I so want him to proof me wrong on my views of his political issues. I do think that he is a compassionate person and does generally care about the people and I like it that he and Michelle are family people too. I don't judge him in a personal way only in a political way. Now I must tell you what Walker said today when I was trying to explain to him about the new president. It went something like this:

Me~ Walker do you know what today is?

W~ Aden's birthday?

M~ No this is the day that we get a new President. No more President Bush. Now we have President Obama.

W~ I not want Obama right now.

M~ Me too but we have no choice Obama is our new President.

W~ (a little louder) I not want Obama right now.

M~ I hear ya son.

W~ I want cake.

No idea where the cake came from. Still not sure if he got what I was talking about but my friend Jennifer thought I should share this on the blog.

Mary Kay

I don't know if everyone remembers but I use to sell Mary Kay before I had Walker. Well I still have tons of it left over and now I am trying to get rid of it hopefully. If any of you are needing something just leave a comment and I will see if I have it in inventory and sell it for what I paid. Just let me know and thank you for helping me get rid of this in advance.

Christmas Morning

Tired babies on the way to Nanny's
Walker checking out his stocking
Aden's favorite thing was his orange
Playing with the table together
Hey Mommy!
Walker riding his tricycle while Aden watches
Daddy and Mommy got Walker a tricycle
Walker busy playing choo choos
Aden dancing with his stage
Walker looking at Mommy and saying Choo Choo table
Waiting to see what Santa brought
Walker's Choo Choo Table
The new stocking tree
Aden's sing along stage
The toys and Holly
Well Christmas did not go as I had planned because Walker woke up at 4 am with a nightmare and then at 7am not feeling well. He was wanting to watch Diego but I knew he had forgot that Santa came by so we were trying to hold him off until Aden woke up.( Also the fact that Josh and I didn't get into bed until 3am) Lucky for us Aden woke up a little past 7am and we were able to start Christmas. Walker was so surprised that Santa came and Aden was so so happy with what Santa brought him. As soon as I hit a button for the music Aden started dancing. They are both so much fun and so very cute if I do say so myself. I am ready for next year now.

Christmas Card

Take four and card picture.
Take three
Take two
This is take one
This year we did the Christmas card picture in 4 takes and just settled for the best out of four. Walker was running around and Aden was tired and hungry. So we got what we got and I am happy with them.

Christmas Tree Finding

Aden and Poppy
Walker and Nana
The Boone Family
Walker and Aden in the driver's seat of the train.
Josh, Lindsay and the boys riding the train.
This year we tried a new tree farm that Walker's cousins always go to. I would give it a 8 out of 10 trees. Besides the train there wasn't much going on for the kids to do and it didn't seem that organized but they did have hot chocolate and hot apple cider. I will say that the tree was one of the best ones we have ever had.
